This video shows a guard concept that is what I consider “advanced basics”. It is simple enough for everyone to practice, and effective enough for everyone at all levels to hit during their live rolling and competitions. The main premise is using hip control, pressure, and timing to off balance your opponent from the guard and set up attacks.
Thank you once again for watching,

Hey Chris, the armbar may be a possibility but it is definitely lower percentage in my opinion.
I try alot of your ideas out at my bjj gym. Ive been training for bout 8 yrs now with the same group and alot of my training partners sprawl and smash me or cradle me up. I feel Im moving my hips enough and have good grips to control them. Any suggestions?
thanks,
Brian
I have to agree- very aanmizg blog post. There’s a growing group of girls here in Little Rock, Arkansas, and I’m definitely going to spread the word about Fenom. Such a great cause. Keep it up!
once u break his balance and his hand is on the floor can u also throw your left leg over his face and take the armbar? or would you be to far on your right hip to go for that?
